Mental health and universal coverage - 2008
The California Endowment commissioned a paper covering key issues related to mental health services and universal coverage to raise awareness, inform decision-makers, and explore how to ensure that the issues related to adequate mental health coverage are included for debate and policy action in the future.
The report covers the following areas: incidence and consequences of untreated mental illness; access to effective mental health services; access to mental health coverage; public funding streams for mental health services; and status of the mental health parity debate. This executive summary synthesizes important findings and recommendations.
